RESUMO

Os autores apresentam uma revtsão bibliográfica sobre as particularidades do internamento de doentes com SIDA em Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos, procurando contribuir para o esclarecimento das dúvidas frequentes que estes doentes levantam, nomeadamente, os critérios de admissão, de reanimação e de suspensão de suspensão de atitudes terapâuticas.

The authors present a review of the literature concerning the specifics of the hospitalization of AIDS patients in Intensive Care Units (ICU) in an attempt to contribute towards giving answers to questions frequently posed by these patients; namely ICU admission, reanimation and the suspending of therapy.
